In the recession of 2007-2009, the government (under both Presidents that served during that time) spent A LOT of money (the FED did too - but that's a later story), but the recession was slow to end and the economy was slow to recover - and the growth rate isn't what many expect. Past recessions (even deeper ones) ended quicker, their recoveries were faster and the growth rates afterwards were more robust. Does expansionary fiscal policy still work? What's the difference
