Discussion Board: Kidney Functions

Overview

One of the most important functions of the kidney is filtration of blood and maintaining blood pressure. When a patient has hypertension, one of the treatments given is a diuretic and one of the risks of chronic hypertension if not treated is renal failure. The treatment of renal failure is dialysis. There are two types of dialysis: hemodialysis and peritoneal.
