The measures of central tendency - mode, median, and mean - are present in our lives many times without us realizing it. Think about what they are. Mode - the most occurring score or category. Median - the score at the center of ordered numbers. Mean - the average of some amounts.

1. List one example of how you have used each of the three measures of central tendency in your life
   • (three examples total).
2. Do an internet search for "measurement scale for love" OR "measurement scale for happiness" and once you see the questions that are asked to measure either love or happiness, copy and paste them here, in your discussion response.
3. Think of a group of people that you would be interested in studying (youth, elders, children, college students, veterans, cancer patients, etc.), and think of a variable/construct you would like to measure in this group of people.
   1. What is the group you chose?
   2. What is the variable you would like to measure?
   3. Would you use a qualitative or quantitative measure? And, would you compute the mode, median, or mean?
