Discussion: The "S" in UAS. Concept of Operations (CONOPS) is a high-level overarching description for the employment of UAS in the performance of mission objectives. As presented in the Readings and Resources section, there are numerous elements that define the "S" in UAS, depending on the job it's employed to do. Select a job (real or imagined) that a large UAS does or could do. Develop a CONOPS that provides a short description. Generate a simple graphic identifying all the elements of the "S" in UAS for that job. At a minimum, your CONOPS should include the UAS, ground station, communications (satellite, if applicable), and any ground or air support necessary, and identify where the human in the loop is. Note: There are many examples of CONOPS available. A simple graphic made with MS PowerPoint or a similar program is sufficient for this assignment. The intent is to show that you understand all the elements needed to make up the "S," and not how awesome a graphic designer you are! Post your information to this discussion. Review the submissions of your peers and provide comments or questions.
