An essential part of research is obtaining funding and support for the research project. Funding is an essential aspect of conducting the research, and a researcher must first gain support for the project itself from the organization connected to the project. This typically includes university or research organizations and any organizations working with them to gather data. Additionally, grant funding is highly preferred in conducting research.

Select one or more grant funding organizations and applicable grants for the research project, i.e., grant organizations on the Internet using your search engine, grants.gov, non-profit research or philanthropic organizations, or any other appropriate source. The grant source is up to the researcher, but the research project must fit the grant funding criteria presented.

Proposed title for your project (this should reflect a research focus and be clear to your reader): Cultural, Structural, and Spirituality Effects on Access and Compliance in Mental Treatment of Black Americans Initial Research Question(s) and Hypothesis(es): Will there be significant mean differences in Black Americans' mental health access across the treatment programs? Current studies have focused on disparities in the utilization of mental health services between Black Americans and dominant racial groups or foreign domestic-born Black Americans. While these studies have addressed cultural, structural, and spiritual barriers to Black Americans accessing mental health treatment and addressing an unmet need, research is limited on how these barriers might be interrelated. Also, studies have focused on these barriers as being separate constructs. Therefore, further studies must be conducted to determine how to handle potential barriers while designing interventions specific to this population that might increase access and compliance
