Discussion Topic Chapter 13 provides a review of motivational theories in the workplace. Throughout my years, I have found myself particularly drawn to Expectancy Theory because of its relative simplicity. There are three components in Expectancy Theory, and each one needs to be present (and strong) in order for an employee to exhibit optimal motivation. Now, let's take an opportunity to try and apply Expectancy Theory. Think back to a time at work (or in your personal life) in which you lacked motivation for a task or project.
