Discussion's specification/guidelines:

(Provide a qualitative analysis of a part of the Rube Goldberg device you're creating in support of your project. Identify an example of an object that is in static equilibrium. Consider if the step was already triggered, or there is an imbalance in the forces acting on the object that initiates motion.) (Discussion is below)

Discussion: One portion of my device is a ball that has a rope around it which has another ball inside that dangle's on an angle so when it drops it swings into another step of dominos which creates the imbalance of forces. This dangle system creates a static equilibrium on the second ball when it comes to a full stop after the initial swing, which according to PhysicsLab, 2023, is when forces acting on an object which is at rest are balanced. Gravity and the angle initiate the motion since the ball falls into the rope at an angle, then swings at a constant motion of an angular velocity of -2 m/s and 2 m/s from one direction to another passing the point of equilibrium. Once the ball is at rest after deacceleration, it returns to a state of static equilibrium because the net external forces equal 0 and the ball becomes at rest again. When in the state of static equilibrium, the rope pushes the ball up creating tension while gravity and the balls weight pushes down.
