Disney Magic Band Case Analysis

Overview

In this weeks learning module, you reviewed content about the use of the Magic Band at Disney Theme Parks. For this project, we will examine the business aspects of what made this leap in product technology so innovative.

1. Please examine the use of the Magic Band from a product design perspective. Look at how the product took innovative features and combined them into one product (design for ease of use). What are the unique features of this product that make it so revolutionary for its industry?
2. Knowing that the magic band stores personal data, has access to guest rooms, has an electric pay system tied to it, what are the security concerns around this product? What are the company liabilities issues surrounding this product? What is being done with the data that is stored on these devise? Who is ensuring that is safe guarded?

Report Guidelines

There should be five sections in your final report. Each student should read the provided article relating to the study of Magic Band and identify the information needed to complete each section.

Title Page: Title page should contain the name of the project and your name.

Executive summary: This is a concisely written statement, about page, placed at the front of the report, on its own page. It briefly summarizes the major points of the case and your solution. It should describe the major issue, the proposed solution, and the logic supporting the solution.

Problem statement: Present the central issue(s) or major problem(s) in the case here. Do not rehash the facts of the case; assume that anyone reading the report is familiar with the case.

Alternatives: Discuss all relevant alternatives. Briefly present the major arguments for and against each alternative. Be sure to state your assumptions and the impact of constraints on each alternative.

Conclusion: Present the analysis and the logic that led you to select a particular solution. Also, discuss the reasons you rejected the other alternatives.

Implementation: Outline a plan of action that will lead to effective implementation of the decision so that the reader can see not only why you chose a particular alternative but also how it will work.

Formatting Guidelines

Your report should follow the following APA formatting guidelines to receive full credit.

Title page should include the Project Name and your name.

Title should be 12pt font, Arial bold.

Section titles should be 12pt font, Arial bold.

Text should be 12pt font, Times New Roman.

Document should be DOUBLE SPACED using 1 margins

Document should be between 2-4 pages in length (excluding figures and tables).

No less than 2 pages

No more than 4 pages

Title page plus 2-4 pages for the report.
