disscussion reply to these two.

1. In my personal experience, I do not think employees are motivated ti achieve power withn their organization. I think that organizations hold onto their own power and diviate the power to who they choose, many employees of an organization are expected to handle tasks and it would not be beneficial if all people within an orgnaization were trying to achieve power. If everyone on a football team was told they could be team captain if they assumed the power of team captain, everyone would become a micro manager and attempt to push tasks onto those they see as subordinates. It is beneficial to have some team members push to achieve power, but if everyone is encouraged to do so then everyone will and that will result in a less effiecient work environment. The way organzations hold onto power and discourage others from achieving it is discouraging to me. I believe everyone can utilize some form of power to improve or do goood within a organization but sadly organizations usually decide for themselves on who they want to hold power based on personal relationships and less about performance.

2. Human nature drives the inherent need for power, so I think every employee wants to achieve power within their organization. Now that doesn't mean that every employee wants the responsibility that comes along with the power associated with the position that gives them that power. While power itself has not really been a driving factor for me personally, the power that comes along with being an expert has always been something I strive for. It is not just about being the smartest person regarding a subject matter, there is something very rewarding about having the answers and being able to help people with the problem they are facing.
