Do an ELCA for the following case to determine business-specific responsibilities and recommend actions to address them.
Case: ABC is a traditional fast food chain. Its main product is a traditional hamburger. ABC recently lost market share and is considering how to become more efficient and more attractive to younger customers. Part of the strategic planning is an ELCA of their hamburgers.
Instructions:
Do some research to identify typical issues in the product life cycle of a hamburger as it has traditionally been produced (it is good enough to just consider main ingredients).
Apply all four steps of the ELCA method. Make sure you always explain your claims/evaluations and also provide some data/references.
Address all stages of the product life cycle (sourcing, production, distribution, use, disposal) and discuss at least one typical ethical issue of each stage.
Provide 3 recommendations in step 4. Explain how your recommendations address the ethical issues and make business sense.
You may produce a table as I did in my examples, but you don't have to. If you use a table, you need still to explain your entries.
