1. Do minimum-wage laws discourage employment of young persons, especially the unskilled, and thus encourage idleness and crime? Should the minimum-wage laws be eliminated or modified for minors and young adults?
2. Subtle illegal discrimination because of sex, color, religion, age, and national origin still exists in many places. How can it be further reduced or eliminated? How can victims of discrimination facilitate that elimination?
3. Should the federal government be the employer of last resort for those who cannot find jobs in the private sector? What meaningful work could such persons do?
4. Should all states enact right-to-work laws?
5. Should labor strikes and management lockouts be forbidden, and labor-management disputes be settled by compulsory arbitration?
6. Are unions obsolescent or obsolete? If not, why, when, where, and how should union membership be encouraged? Should employers be required to rehire all strikers (after the strike is ended), even in an economic strike?
7. Should comparable-worth laws be enacted at the federal and state levels? Would women be the only beneficiaries of such legislation?
8. People live longer now than when the Social Security Act was enacted in 1935. In 1983, Congress enacted a phased increase in the normal (full benefit) retirement age from age 65 to 67. As longevity continues to grow, should retirement age continue to be advanced? For persons that have already begun paying Social Security taxes?
9. Should racial and other special interest or minority quotas and affirmative action policies for employment and educational (for example, college admission) opportunities be legally forbidden?
10. The Civil Rights Act is silent as to gay rights. Does the federal statute provide civil rights protections to gays?
