TOPIC:Revenue Maximization (RevMAX) Sheet

You are the revenue manager of a 200-room hotel property with 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space which breaks out as follows:

  • Plaza 5,000 sq. ft. ballroom
  • Seaport 2,500 sq. ft. ballroom
  • Flagship 1,000 sq. ft. conference room
  • Liberty, Constitution and Lighthouse all 500 sq. ft meeting rooms

Your average check per meal function are as follows:

  • Continental breakfast - $30
  • Breakfast - $34
  • Lunch - $54
  • Break - $17
  • Reception - $60
  • Dinner - $75

Both groups will arrive on Monday, May 6th for two nights with an ADR of $329 per night. Neither group is commissionable.

Use the information on Part 2 Data tab in the attached "Total Revenue Management" Excel spreadsheet to complete the RevMAX sheets for each group. Determine which group will bring more revenue and profit to the hotel. In the textbox at the bottom of the RevMAX sheet for the group you have selected explain which group why you would recommend taking the group and why.
