The film AFRO CUBA LIBRE: A Mini-Documentary on Race in Cuba highlights how in this diverse culture, white supremacy and anti-blackness affect what opportunities one may have. As the video quotes, "...blacks are still woefully underrepresented in tourism-probably the economy's most lucrative sector-and are far less likely than whites to own their own businesses."(5:46). Robert Zurbano further highlights this when describing how black Cubans have to be more pragmatic with their businesses (8:30). In an interview, William Cabrera explained how in Cuba, you will see black workers doing domestic labor such as cleaning or cooking, and white workers doing work with the public (7:17). This all goes to show that the opportunities for black Cubans are stifled due to job discrimination and systematic oppression from an economy dominated by whites
