Three tips for a job interview are, research and learn about the company, understand the jobs requirements and qualifications and be able to explain them a to potential employer, position your resume to the particular job your applying for. These would be the tips I would use for myself and also pass along, I think the best thing an employer wants to see is obviously what you can bring to the table and how you can contribute the organization. I think in my opinion a big factor employers are looking for is being a good team player and try to show and reflect experiences of that nature on a resume. Having the proper qualifications such as degrees and such are good but I think experience sometimes can outweigh depending on the job obviously. Making your resume reflect your experience related to the job will be what stands out and once again tailoring your resume to particular job I think helps also.
