Do you agree or disagree with the strategy or business ethics of this company that was discussed in this small article below/?
Hello everyone,
Tesla, Inc, formerly known as Tesla Motors, was founded in 2003, as an American electric-automobile manufacturer by entrepreneurs, Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, according to Erik Gregersen and Barbara A. Schreiber of Britanica.com (Apr. 4, 2019). They were later joined by Elon Musk, Ian Wright and JB Straubel, becoming the five original co-founders.
Elon Musk, one of the most creative leaders of our time, is widely seen as a visionary. Yet, while his unique personality and boundless creativity have led to incredible success for his entrepreneurial ventures, they have also resulted in debilitating consequences.
Demonstrating the romantic view of leadership, Elon Musk is the current CEO and oversees product strategy and design, as well as engineering and manufacturing of products for consumers.
As stated in their mission statement, Tesla, Inc. has begun to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy, by introducing several all-electric vehicles. In 2008, Tesla released it's first car, (as Tesla Motors) the completely electric Roadster. Then, in 2012, Tesla released the world's first ever premium all-electric sedan, the Model S, which has become the best car in its class, in every category including safety, performance, and efficiency. In 2015, Tesla expanded its product line with the Model X which boasts the safest, quickest and most capable sport utility vehicle in history; that holds 5-star safety ratings across every category from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In 2016, Tesla introduced the Model 3. This a lower-priced, high-volume electric vehicle that began production in 2017.Soon afterwards, Tesla unveiled the safest, most comfortable semi-truck ever. The Tesla Semi, which is designed to save owners at least $200,000, over a million miles, based on fuel costs alone.
With the implementation of these innovative new products has also come some drama. In August of 2018 Musk tweeted that he was considering taking the company private at $420. This caused Tesla shares to jump by11% in one day causing legal controversy.
