My article discusses decision-making tools in Project Management (PM). "In research and development (R&D), project management (PM) decision-making tools are used to meet the customer's expectations on the triple constraint of making a product within specifications, budget, and processing time" (Aguda, Bonilla, Hmida, Revillame 2021). This indicates various tools that a PM can use to create measurable criteria for decision-making, such as costs, timeliness, and profitability. In the world of biochemicals, there are other decisions the PM must weigh, such as safety, sustainability, and environmental considerations. While the product is different, the PM must make many decisions. Technology management consists of planning, directing, controlling, and coordinating the development and implementation of technological capabilities to shape and accomplish an organization's strategic and operational objectives. Project managers in this area are typically faced with challenges in training staff for specialized knowledge and developing a skill base, which is a concern in organizations that want to achieve sustainability (Cetindamar et al., 2016).
While the article is about PM and biochemical corporations, it may not be perfect for Taylor's Scientific theory, which focuses on finding the most efficient way to complete tasks and productivity. The idea may be the most efficient way it may not be safe, sustainable, or environmentally friendly. In the world of biochemicals, you sometimes must lower production to become safe, sustainable, and environmentally friendly. So with the inherent stresses of working with biochemicals and the intense training to obtain the skillsets, this would be an excellent place to use the Human theory and create an environment that retains employees through creating an environment that the employees like. Huemann and Silvius (2017) stated that project managers should fulfill stakeholders' needs and triple constraints and, at the same time, should also know what sustainability measurement tools would fit the specifics of the diversity of their real-life projects. Every project is a unique undertaking with a defined scope, cost, and timeline for completion. The uniqueness of real-life projects makes approaches for tailoring PM tools diverse. For instance, recent PM sustainability studies have shown replacing current PM models with tailored PM models that incorporate sustainability dimensions such as descriptive statistics and the triple P (people-planet-profit) approach for multi-factor analysis (Huemann and Silvius, 2017).
