DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS SCENARIO CASE?WHY?

PLEASE MAKE SURE THE ANSWER WILL BE ONLY 100WORDS WITH REFERENCE

There was a certain CSR at my current workplace when I started with the company which referred to himself as an "Oracle" who refused to let co-workers in on some system transactions, SOPs, and other operational data.

My initial assessment according to Frederick Taylor's concept was a sense of intrinsic reward (sense of accomplishment, confidence, and pride) motivation-driven individual. I later discovered that their behavior was more of an extrinsic (bonus that came with the position) which ties into Maslow's 2nd (safety) and 4th (esteem) hierarchy of needs. Safety in the form of job security and esteem for recognition from peers and management for their skillset and value he brings (Gitman et al., 2018).

The culture around was more of individual responsibility tasks, no clear definition of duties, groupthink, no competitiveness, no risk takers, and a lot of conformity with no clear path to long-term goals. Instead of William's Theory Z or McGregor's Theory Y, the management went with the contemporary motivational approach by introducing job rotation and enlargement whereby employees are moved around to be cross-trained or assigned different responsibilities alongside employee recognition and empowerment programs (Gitman et al., 2018).
