Do you use visual support with your clients?
It so happens that I use visual schedules with my client, but not for the reason of knowing what the next activity will be or to avoid the unexpected. Rather, we use it as an exercise for learning and understanding how to read a visual schedule. To be able to identify from the written paper, what comes before lunch or what comes after snacks.
Did you find this week's readings relevant?
I definitely found this week's reading about visual support relevant. A client of mine has a hard time in class, sitting nicely, facing the teacher, with his hands on his lap, and his feet on the floor. I learned from this week's reading that it may help to tape a picture of himself sitting appropriately on his chair, as he might need constant reminders.
