Both materials have square cross section. Carbon fiber's dimensions are 40 x 40 mm, and polyurethane foam's dimensions are 30 x 30 mm. These materials were tested in three-point bending conditions as shown in Figure 1b. The support distance was 130 mm and maximum force was recorded as 20 kN and applied at the middle of the support span. Find the maximum bending stresses in carbon fiber and polyurethane foam.
