Dong Nai riverside residential project was approved by Dong Nai authorities and was invested by Toan Thinh Phat Corporation. It was located on the basin of the Dong Nai River, stretching over 1.3 km along the river with a total area of 8.4 ha. Vietnam Rivers Network (VRN), a nongovernmental environmental organisation, had fiercely opposed the project owing to dumping of sand and rocks into the river for site preparation. As a result, this project was suspended.
