Donna was recently hired by a travel agency. Her employment contract provides for a three month probationary period during which her new employer would provide her with feedback about her performance.

From the day that she met the manager, there was tension in the office. Donna felt that the manager had unreasonable expectations particularly given the travel interruptions during Covid, and put a great deal of pressure on her. Donna also believes that the manager has taken a personal dislike to her.

Three weeks into her new job, Donna was let go. She was not given a reason other than the claim that "she was not a good fit with the agency". Donna believes that she was fired because her manager disliked her. She would like to know whether an employer can fire an employee during the probation period without good reason.

A. Find the relevant law (3 cases), briefly describe each case and how it applies to this scenario.
