Dr. Meredith Grey took care of her sick father, Thatcher Grey. Thatcher also had two other children, Lexie and Molly. After Meredith's father died, Meredith claimed that she was entitled to be paid for the services she had rendered him. Lexie and Molly opposed this claim because they allege that they also rendered services to their father. Lexie and Molly furthered claimed that Meredith was barred from any recovery because of the presumption that services rendered between family members were gratutious. Meredith, however, claimed that their presumption was not applicable because Meredith had her own house and was not living with her father while she rendered these services.
