1. Supervise all administrative functions of the court.

i. Ensuring all steps in the filing process are correctly followed and conferring with the registrar;

ii. Ensuring that team members’ deal with case files in such a manner necessary to have them listed for hearing within the shortest possible time. iii. Regulating case flow to ensure that urgent matters are brought to the attention to the relevant authorities so that matters can be dealt with expeditiously.

2. Provides general supervision for all subordinate officers of the registry who have responsibility for case management.

i. reviewing organizational structure and staff relations from time to time with a view of upgrading

ii. Assist the Registrar in preparing business plans, estimates, virements, supplementary etc.

iii. Advising subordinate staff of approval of leave or time off after receiving such requests

iv. Advising on organizational needs with respect to additional staffing.

v. Developing and coordinating training programmes for staff development and sensitizing all staff of Case Management procedures.

vi. Preparing appraisals of subordinate staff.

3. In conjunction with the Registrar, monitor the progress of cases lodged/filed in the Court from their initiation too final disposition.

i. Ensuring cases are effectively managed from initiation to final disposition using the available technology;

ii. Developing practices to monitor the accuracy of data entered into the computer system.

4. Managing the Financial Budget and Human Resource needs of the Supreme Court / Registry Department.

5. Preparing audits of the equipment, furniture and software needs of the Department

6. Being the first Line Manager of the Executive Officer, Senior Clerical Officer and other Clerical Officers in the Department.

7. Preparing Audit Reports, Budget calls and Strategic Plans on behalf of the Supreme Court / Registry Department.

8. Ensuring that Cause Lists are prepared well in advance of the hearing dates so that judicial officers, practitioners and litigants, can be given early notification.

9. Monitoring and assisting to ensure that Orders and Judgments are drawn up, sealed, and served by the Court Process Servers/ Bailiffs in a timely manner as required by the Rules and any administrative directions which are issued.

10. Assisting with arrangements for travel and hotel accommodation of judges and other visitors to the Court on assignment by the Chief Justice and ensuring that appropriate transportation arrangements are made for Orderly/Driver.

11. Providing general overseeing of physical facilities, machinery tools and equipment.

i. Ensuring all equipment is functional in the judge’s chambers, Court office and Court rooms.

ii. Making arrangements for replacement or repair of equipment

12. Preparing and ensuring the preparation of Orders, Certificates of Results, Digest and judgments of High Court and Court of Appeal matters.

13. Perform the duties of Commission for Oaths

14. Supervising and assisting in the preparation of Smart Stream vouchers and payments.

15. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
