Drake had been robbed and burglarized in his dorm room ten times in the past ten months. With this in mind he loaded a shotgun and fastened it to the ground, facing the front door of his dorm room. He attached a string to the trigger so that the gun would fire when the door opened. Drake then took a bag of cocaine from his dresser drawer and he left his room through a window. Two hours later Stuart, a burglar, forced open Drake's dorm room door and the shotgun went off, killing Stuart.

Later that day Drake saw Bill, who was walking his dog, and Drake asked Billto deliver the bag of cocaine to a house on 2nd street. Bill said "I want nothing to do with your drug dealings." Drake became angry and he then grabbed Bill's dog and held a knife against its side. Drake then told Bill he would cut the dog's throat unless Bill delivered the bag of cocaine. Afraid for his dog's life, Bill agreed to deliver the bag of cocaine. And so Drake give Bill the keys to Drake's car and Bill got into Drake's car and drove alone in the car toward 2ndstreet. While driving Bill looked in the glove compartment of Drake's car and discovered $10,000 in cash, which Bill then took and put in his wallet.

After dropping off the bag of cocaine at the house on 2ndstreet Bill drove to the University where he met with Professor B. In his meeting with Professor B Bill offered the Professor $10,000 cash to change Bill's business law grade from a C to an A. The Professor accepted the cash from Bill and the Professor then accessed the University computer system and he changed Bill's grade in business law from a C to an A.
