Draw an entity-relationship diagram that describes the following business environment using CROWS FOOT notation. Please make a digital drawing instead of pen and pencil. Please note any assumptions you make while you draw your diagram. World Traveler is a cruise company operating multiple ships that travel to various regions. The company manages a range of cruise itineraries with multiple ports of call in each region. It aims to maintain information on its crew, past and future cruises as well as passengers who have sailed in the past or are booked for future trips. Each ship is uniquely identified by its name. Other attributes of ship include weight, year built, and passenger capacity. Each ship has at least one and, of course, normally many crew members. Crew members have a unique identification number, as well as a name, date of birth. Some of the crew members are in supervisory positions, supervising several other members. Each crew member reports to just one supervisor. Some of the members are permanent employees; others are contractor employees of the company. The permanent employees have date hired and annual salary. For the contractors, the company would like to keep track of the contract begin date and contract end date. The company offers health insurance plans for the dependents of the permanent employees, so it needs to keep track of the dependents of permanent employees. The attributes for the dependents are social security number, name, date of birth. A cruise is identified by a unique cruise serial number. Other cruise descriptors include a departure date, a return date and a departure port (a departure port is also the return port) for the cruise. Each ship may have sailed multiple cruises over time, however there may be new ships that have not yet sailed on any cruises. Each cruise stops at several ports of call, each of which is normally host to many cruises overtime. The company is interested in maintaining information on potential future ports. The sequence (order) of ports visited and the date they are visited during a cruise is recorded. A port is identified by its name and the country it is in. Other information about a port includes the region it is in and its current docking fee, which is assumed to be the same for all ships. Passengers book cruises through travel agents. They cannot book a cruise directly. Passenger information includes a unique passenger number, name, home address, date of birth and nationality. A passenger may have multiple nationalities. A cruise can have multiple passengers and a passenger must have booked at least one cruise. A travel agent is identified by a unique agent number. The other attributes of a travel agent include, name, address, phone number. Each travel agent may book customers for various cruises. The company does not keep track of agents, which have not made any bookings. When a booking is made the company wants to keep track of the cabin type that was booked and the price paid by the customer. In addition, the company would like to keep track of passengers satisfaction rating for each booked cruise.
