Draw an ER diagram to represent the data model for the project described below. Include in the data model all entities, relationships, attributes, and all possible constraints.
The Guild of Ruinous Antagonistic Nasty Nefarious Yuckies (or GRANNY) has finally decided to modernize: for years theyve kept track of all the worlds supervillains by rolodex, which is just goofy (and nobody likes a goofy GRANNY).
You are tasked with designing the database schema for keeping track of supervillains, their lairs, and their nemeses.
Each supervillain has the standard identifying information: birth name, evil alias, tragic backstory, and a goofy theme (e.g. speedsters, ice-themed, etc. Every new supervillain picks one from the list).
o Your supervillain name is kind of your brand, so up-and-coming criminals arent permitted to encroach
Ever since the right to bear arms was interpreted as including Weapons of Mass Disintegration, every supervillain has chosen at least one evil accessory. These accessories are rated for threat level, as well as style
o Note that nature abhors a vacuum, and vacuum guns abhor nature: no accessory will ever go unclaimed
Supervillains schemes are constantly foiled by their nemeses (or heroes, but lets not use their word): a nemesis interferes with the plans of multiple supervillains, but thankfully no supervillain ever needs to worry about more than one do-gooder. For example, the schemes of both Ice Dude and Frosty the Killman have been dashed by Moderately Warm Day Man.
o Possibly worth noting that there are actually two flavours of these goofballs: some turned to a life of vigilantism after losing a loved one, whos integrally important to their motive; others spontaneously developed superpowers, and figured the only way they could use them was by punching someone who
has it coming; some qualify as both!
o Theres always the possibility an FBI agent will closely monitor this arching, as theyre always looking for excuses to take down the heroes that make them look bad.
Sometimes supervillains pair up to join forces, brought together by their mutual hatred for... something? someone? These never last; though its good to keep track of them for posterity.
Note: Be sure to consider any participation and/or key constraints that may not be explicitly mentioned above. If you find a situation where there could be a choice of different constraints that could be applied, you must include an explanation of why you chose the implementation you did, along with your diagrams or relations.
Also note that weve clearly (intentionally) left out some incidental details. Youre expected to fill in the blanks as needed.
