Math 75 Concept and Applications Assignment \#6 due by Oct 29 at 11:59 p.m. on Canvas through Canvas online submission system (plus a 24-hour grace period for resolving potential technical problems; 2 points of credit will be deducted for each started 10 minutes of submission past the end of the grace period) Note: do not submit this document. You do not even have to print it. Write your solutions on paper and then combine your handwritten pages into a single pdf file which you will then submit to Canvas. Please refer to online submission guidelines (Start Herel module on Canvas) for the details. Work the following problem. Problem. In each of the parts (a) - (d) below, sketch the graph of a function f that is defined and continuous on the interval (4,4), and satisfies the given conditions (you have thus 4 graphs to sketch). Graph each function in a different coordinate system. (a) f has one local minimum at x=0 and one local maximum at x=3; the absolute maximum value of f occurs at x=3, the absolute minimum value of f occurs at x=0 (so the local extrema correspond to the absolute minimum/maximum values at the same time); (b) The absolute maximum of f occurs at x=2, and its absolute minimum value occurs at two points; x=3 and x=3; (c) f attains its absolute maximum value at x=4, its absolute minimum value at x=1; also, the function has a local maximum at x=2, and a critical point that is neither a maximum nor minimum at x=2; (d) f attains the absolute maximum value at two points: x=2 and x=3; it has a local minimum at x=1, and it attains its abolute minimum value at x=4. Note: all functions above are defined on [4,4] only! Do not graph beyond that interval if you do not want to lose credit
