Duc is selling his car. Pham inspects the car. Duc says to Pham, 'You have nothing to spend on this car, it runs perfectly and will never give you trouble'. Duc knows that this statement is not true. The car is mechanically faulty. Pham is enthusiastic and says, 'I've wanted to buy a V-8 car for a long time and this is the one.' Duc does not correct Pham and say that the car has a smaller V-6 engine and not a V-8. Pham buys the car and within 30 days discovers that it is mechanically defective. A friend points out to him that the engine is not a V-8 but a V-6.
