DUE: FRIDAY APRIL 10 (11:59 PM) HOMEWORK 4 - TWO SAMPLE T-TEST The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) is a 21-item, self-report rating inventory that measures characteristic attitudes and symptoms of depression (Beck, et al., 1961). Created by Dr. Aaron T. Beck, it is a 21-question multiple-choice self-report inventory and is one of the most widely used instruments for measuring the severity of depression. The possible score of the BDI ranges from 0 (no depression) to 63 (severe depression). A clinical health care facility on a university campus sought to determine if their approach in managing patients who reported with symptoms of depression was effective. The clinic used the BDI to determine the effectiveness of their management methods. The clinical staff obtained a random sample of 14 university students seeking treatment and administered the BDI on the first day of consultation and after 10 weeks of treatment. The raw data are depicted below. Participant Pre-test BDI score Post-test BDI score 1 19 18 2 32 28 3 41 36 4 55 52 5 27 15 6 21 15 7 36 33 8 39 40 9 45 40 10 12 14 11 12 13 14 2227 36 16 23 40 Answer the following question from a statistical perspective........is the clinical health care facility effective in addressing depression symptoms in university students?
