One day he visited Splashtopia, a water park, and sea creature zoo, and hid from the security guards so he could stay at the park after closing. When he was sure that everyone had left and he could elude security, he slipped into the killer whale tank to frolic with the beautiful mammal. According to the security camera, Duke entered the water and swam out toward the middle of the tank. The whale approached him and began bumping him. Scared, Duke began to swim back to the edge to exit the pool. He did not get there before the whale took his leg in its mouth and dragged him to the bottom of the deep tank and back up again at an alarming speed. Duke could not swim well and soon drowned. Duke, not trained to deal with whales, could not control the situation. The next morning, the staff and trainers reported for work and found Duke floating face down in the pool.
