During 2020, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals spent $210 million on research and development of an antibody treatment that reduces the viral load of infections like COVID-19, and shows some evidence of improved clinical outcomes in recent trials. This treatment has not been approved by the FDA and there is a chance that it might fail during human clinical trials. Based on current trends, the Company is hopeful that they will get FDA approval soon.
