During the development of the training being undertaken for my assignment I found that there is a model of the ADDIE system out there that adds a few steps into the process. This model is referred to as the INCLUSIVE ADDIE model. By adding in steps into the process' of the ADDIE model you can create a training that is free of "negative stereotypes and unconscious bias, encourage respect, representation, access, and communication, and recognize students with varying abilities." (Chris Gamrat, 2022) The new INCLUSIVE ADDIE model builds on the ADDIE framework with the original five stages, but adds 9 substages to ensure that the cultural components are not missed "infuse inclusive practices into the pedagogical process: introspection, needs, context, lesson, understanding, supporting structures, implementation, values, and evolution" (Chris Gamrat, 2022) By using this model my training will ensure that DEI has been taken into account providing a safe space for all those that are partaking in the training that is developed.
