During the year 2016, David has managed to collect some debts owing by the accounts receivable after legal actions have been taken to recover the amount. Since then, he has become prudent to regularly conduct a review of credit risk management before extending credit terms to corporations. As at 31 December 2016, the amount of the accounts receivable balance has reduced to RM18,000 and the allowance for doubt debts remains at 2%. However, one of the corporations, Active X Sdn. Bhd. has closed down its operations and the amount owing amounted to RM1,500 is irrecoverable and thus he decided to write off the accounts. The debts amount has not been adjusted yet. Required As at 31 December 2016, prepare the following: a) Allowance for doubtful debts accounts. b) A Statement of financial position extract to show accounts receivable as at 31 December 2016
