Direct material for Job 203 is $200. It takes 10 direct labor hours to complete Job 203 and direct labor cost per hour is $15. Company use predetermined overhead rate to apply the manufacturing overhead to jobs. Estimated total manufacturing overhead cost is $760.000 and estimated total direct labor hours is 20.000 hours. Company determined direct labor hours as allocation base. Question 1: Calculate the manufacturing cost by using the amounts shown in the paragraph above. Explanation 2: A company which uses job-order costing system can allocate manufacturing cost to jobs based on estimated overhead costs. However, if estimated manufacturing overhead cost is different from the manufacturing overhead cost that was actually incurred, company must adjust the calculations.
