SunDisk, a manufacturer of flash drives earns t - q2 from the sale of a flash drive where f is the price charged, q is the capacity in gigabytes, and q' is the cost of producing it (for simplicity the cost of each drive is independent of that of other drives). A buyer of type O either buys one flash drive or none and gets utility from buying of u = 0q - t, where 0, = 6,02 = 8, and 0, = 10. There are 100 buyers of types 1 and 2 each, and 50 buyers of type 3. Each buyer's reservation utility is zero. In each of the following questions set up the manufacturer's profit mazimization problem and solve: (a) If SunDisk offered one capacity of flash drive, q at price f what, will this be? (b) If SunDisk offers three configurations, (t1, q1.), (tz. 92.), (ta.97.) , each one intended for each type of buyer, what will these be? (consumers choose whichever configuration they want)
