The average justice's term is now longer than it has been at any other point in U.S. history. Should non-elected Supreme Court justices serve life-time appointments? According to an April 2021 Ipsos poll, a majority of Americans want to end lifetime tenure for U.S. Supreme Court justices. The national opinion poll found that 63% of adults supported term or age limits for Supreme Court justices. Another 22% said they opposed any limits and the rest did not express an opinion. In light of recent momentous Supreme Court decisions, the debate on lifetime appointments has greater urgency. What do you think?
