Economics: Viewing Guide
Purpose: Demonstrate a proficient understanding of how the economic concepts presented throughout the semester are present in every facet of society.
Directions:
Step 1:Choose a school appropriate movie, TV show or video game as the subject of the project(not rated R)
- Movies/TV show episode/Video Games cannot be repeated at all (for example, if a student in Mrs. Hangos' 1st hour choosesThe Lorax, a student in Mr. K's 3rd hour cannot choose that movie) Also you cannot choose a film that is the same as the examples
- Sign up for a movie by accessing thislink
**Note: You may also choose either aTV show or avideo game to use as the subject of your final project. For TV shows, you can select either one episode of a series, or a series as a whole if economic examples may span multiple episodes/seasons. For a video game, think about elements such as in-game systems, mechanics, stories, and choices for connections to economic terms/concepts.
Step 2: In Schoology, a document entitledFinal Exam Projecthas been shared with you. Create the following in that single document.
- Create a "While Viewing Worksheet" with an answer key
- The format should follow these guidelines:
- Place the title of the movie at the top of the paper
- The worksheet must haveat leasttwo questions that relate to each unit of study with 10 questions total.
- Number each question(and list them in order by unit)
- Write thedefinition of the term used for each questionabove the question itself
- Questions must beapplication based, not just straight definitions (i.e. they must connect tospecific examples/situations from the movie you are watching)
- Indicate the correct answer for each questionby writing a 4-5 sentence explanation of your answer (Note: eitherhighlight your answer a different color, or use adifferent color font)
