Economics Writing Assignment Rubric: Thinking Like an Entrepreneur (20 points) Top Scores (A-B) - The top scoring students will do the following: Provide a short essay of at least two well-developed paragraphs that answers all five questions provided in the assignment. The essay will detail what the invention looks like, how it functions, how it will make someone's life easier or better and what factors of production went into making the item. It will also explain where opportunities for funding might be obtained based on student research. Middle Scores (B-C) - Acceptable scores for students go to those who do the following: Provide a short essay that is one to two paragraphs in length that answers at least three of the five questions completely and only partially the other two questions. For instance, students might provide a complete description of the item, explanation of how it will make someone's life easier and provide a detailed description of the function it performs, but does not completely address where funding might be obtained and explanation of how the factors of production are used to create the product. Low scores (D-F) - Students score poorly when they: Provide a short essay of one paragraph or less that only answers one or two of the five questions in the assignment.
