Self-Actualization Needs: By showing volunteers the impact of their work, such as the successful protection of a natural landscape or species, Greenpeace can help them achieve a sense of self-actualization. They can see that their efforts are contributing to a larger purpose, which is the protection of the environment. Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory can also be applied in this context. The hygiene factors, such as a safe working environment and respectful treatment, need to be addressed to prevent dissatisfaction. The motivators, such as recognition and the work itself, can increase satisfaction.
