Task 2: Right-hand rules Your task is to explain how to use ONE of the three right hand rules of electromagnetism: RHR for a straight wire, RHR for a solenoid, or RHR for the motor principle. You can use any format you feel will explain the rule. For example, you might want to make a video of yourself explaining the rule, create a PowerPoint presentation, write out an explanation, or build and take pictures of a model. Other formats are possible too, as long as they clearly explain the rule. If you are doing a written explanation or PowerPoint, make sure to include labelled diagrams to help clearly explain the rule. You must include: * Explanation of one of the RHR = |f you are doing the RHR for a straight wire or a solenoid, one example of using the RHR to find the direction of the magnetic field AND one example of using the RHR to find the direction of current flow. = |f you are doing the RHR for the motor principle, choose TWO examples out of these three: using the RHR to find the direction of current flow, using the RHR to find the direction of the magnetic field, using the RHR to find the direction of the magnetic force. Task 3: Electromagnetism Electromagnet Hammer Examine the diagram of the electric bell. Use the principles of electromagnetism to explain why the hammer hits the bell when the switch is closed. Task 4: Electricity and Magnetism Knowledge Choose four of the following five questions to answer. 1. Explain the difference between AC and DC current. 2. List two types of elements that would cause an electric potential drop in a circuit and one type of element that would cause an electric potential gain in a circuit. 3. Which type of circuits contains junctions? Explain what happens to the current at a junction. 4 List one similarity and one difference of electric and magnetic fields. 5. List one part of a DC motor that you could change that would reverse the direction of rotation of the motor
