Electrotech, a manufacturer of consumer electronics, is planning to expand its production capacity in Nigeria to meet growing demand. The project involves building a new manufacturing plant and upgrading existing production lines. Effective resource planning and cost control are crucial for the success of this project. Harry has been appointed as a project manager. He has allocated human resources, including engineers, technicians, and skilled labour, to various phases of the project.

Additionally, machinery, materials, and equipment were procured and scheduled for installation. Skill assessments were conducted to ensure that the workforce possessed the required expertise and certifications for specific tasks within the project. Detailed cost estimates were prepared for construction, labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. The project monitoring and evaluation plan includes various key performance indicators (KPIs), milestones, and processes to ensure the project stays on track and meets its objectives. Regular budget reviews were conducted to compare actual expenditures against planned budgets.

In spite of that, many variances which were analysed were not addressed promptly. Because of this, there were conflicts between Harry and the stakeholders. Harry was not able to manage the team properly, which in turn led to project delays and the project plan not being adhered to. The health of the project was also not good.
