In our study. the Legally Selecting Employees and Legally Managing Employees chapter. We learned about areas of the law that specifically relate to recruiting, managing, and retaining staff. The law is very specific regarding the rights of both the employer and the employee in their business relationship.

As a people-intensive industry, the hospitality industry frequently deals with challenges that include high turnover, fierce competition to recruit and retain qualified staff, potential liability for wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, and more.

Based upon our experience or observations, identify one area of employment law that you think represents a significant challenge to managers in this industry.
