EMS personnel, in general, are down in many areas of the country. There has been debate about EMT and paramedic education. Some believe that paramedics should have at a minimuman Associates' Degree. There is also a debate as to the optimal staffing situations. Should every ambulance have a paramedic? Should there be two EMT'sin a truck and two paramedics in others (this is the FDNY model)? How do we staff our vehicles and protect the community?
