Engage your supervisor to clarify your responsibilities; where you are headed; what management expects of you; and to let management know where support is falling short. Speaking with your supervisor the questions become:

1. What do you expect of me?
2. What does good performance look like?
3. How often can I expect feedback - good or bad - on results I produce?
4. What are the limits of my authority to accomplish my responsibilities?
5. How quickly can I expect decisions in areas where I don't have authority?
6. Do you believe I have the data, resources and support needed to meet what is expected of me?
7. How will I be, or am I, credited for the good results I produce?
