English common and statue law was adopted by the new Dominion of Canada in 1867. Over time, Several principles, Doctrines and the structure of the legal system were developed from the original court held directly by the Crown to a complex systen of law and justice which still forms the basis of our current system of law and the foundation of Canadian democracy. Outline and explain some of the milestones in this process and identify some of the major milestones.
