ert is an hourly worker for a manufacturing company. It is a nonunion shop. Normally he works an 8 hour shift daily and a 40-hour week. Recently, his employer has been running an extra shift per week for a 48 hour week, to meet a contract deadline. The employer is paying straight time for the addition 8 hours, not the overtime rate. A couple workers complained, and were told to work or quit and be glad they were getting paid. No overtime rates.
