ESSAY

Jean just bought her new 2020 Toyota Avalon and is taking it back to the dealership where she bought the car,GotchyaToyota, for its annual check-up.When she bought the car she was told by her salesman Kent B. Trusted that if she paid an additional $1000.00 dollars, all of her scheduled maintenance checks would be free.Kent asked if she could make out two separate checks, and leave the name of the payee blank. He said he would stamp both checks with the name of the dealership.

When Jean drove the car into the dealership she had trouble finding anyone to talk to, as it was lunch time. She noticed a man (Vin) putting a broom away in a closet and said to him,

"Here are the keys to my car.See, it's that red one outside.I'm in a hurry and I'm here for my free car repair.Oh, by the way I seem to be using an awful lot of oil."

Jean then rushed out of the dealership. Vin then took the keys and gave them to a salesman and said,

"That red car outside, needs oil and needs to be fixed."

The salesman then took the car out to the shop and told the mechanic that, "The car needed to be fixed".The mechanic (Max) looked for a repair order and did not find one so he decided to perform whatever repairs needed to be fixed. After a time, Max feeling a little under the weather, turned to his fellow employee and said,

"Charlie,....... will you see if you can find out what's wrong with this car?"

There was a lot of noise in the garage and Charlie only heard his named being called and not the rest of the message.

Charlie assumed Max was finished with the car and returned it outside and then told the service manager that the car had been fixed.A bill was prepared for the work that Max had done, this bill came to $800.00 dollars. The bill was then sent to Jean's house as was the station's policy.

Jean came and drove the car home later that night. On her way to her sister's house the engine seized, due to lack of oil, and exploded. The car was destroyed and Jean's sister's car was also damaged as a direct result of the ensuing fire.
