Tenancy for Years (Estate for Years) - Sue signed a lease for her apartment building for one year. - A couple purchases a house and has full ownership and title. They are able to have exclusive possession, use and enjoyment, and dispose of the property when they wish. - Joe's lease expired in May and he did not move out. The landlord does not want Joe in the building anymore (even if he does pay rent) because a new tenant is scheduled to move in to the unit in July. - An older homeowner lives adjacent to an expanding university, and the university would like to acquire her residence for future university use. She is willing to sell, but not interested in moving. The homeowner retains all rights of exclusive possession, use and enjoyment during her lifetime while the university gains right of disposition. - Jack is leasing the basement from his brother John. Jack pays John $500 dollars every month. There is no written agreement between the brothers but john consents the arrangement. - An owner conveys a small apartment building to a university, but requires that the property be used for a dormitory for women students. If men occupy the house, the owner has a reverter, interest, and can reclaim the property. - Jane's lease on her apartment expired in May Jane is building a house that is not complete yet. Jane asked her landlord if she can stay in the apartment and pay rent until her house is complete (which will be within the next few months). Jane's landlord consents the agreement
