Ethics Cased Based Question

Case: Canadian corporations routinely engage in business with partners from developing countries where the workplace standards vary significantly from those in North America. In April 2013, Rana Plaza, a facility housing numerous factories manufacturing garments for European and North American brands (including Loblaws' Joe Fresh brand), collapsed killing 1, 138 employees and seriously injuring 2, 500 others.In 2016, in Ontario, a class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of the Rana Plaza victims against Loblaws. In it, the lawyers said, "Western corporations which seek to benefit from the low cost of labour in [various] countries . . . must be held accountable when the workers that produce their products are exposed to unnecessary risks and are injured or die as a result of unsafe working conditions."
