Every day, people have discussions about the markets for various goods and services. Your friend might comment that he will wait for the price of a new phone to come down before buying one; the price change will impact quantity demanded. These discussions include the concepts of demand and quantity demanded.

When plotting points from a demand schedule, remember that price goes along the y-axis and quantity is on the x-axis. The graph of a demand curve slopes downward because as price increases, quantity demanded decreases. The acronym TRIBE summarizes the reasons the whole demand curve may shift, resulting in a change in quantity demanded at all price levels.

Now that you are familiar with the way a demand curve is graphed, you will make your own graph to submit to your instructor.

Step 1: Launch the data generator to get started. Print or copy the data table to use in the next step.

Step 5: Add another curve to your graph that represents a decrease in demand. Label the new curve "D2."

Step 6: In a few sentences, explain a situation that could have resulted in the demand decrease. Be sure to:

• Make your situation specific to the product or service you chose in Step 2.
• Use at least one factor from the acronym TRIBE in your explanation.

There are many tools you may use to make and submit your graph. Here are a few options for you to consider. Once you have saved your graph image to your hard drive, you can copy it into the same word processing document that contains the rest of your assignment or attach it as a separate file.
